Digital Arts And Design
If you are pursuing a career in fine arts, advertising, audio production, broadcasting, education, electronic publishing, graphic art production, instructional design, marketing, or Web development this program is for you. The mission of the Digital Arts Technology program is to provide students with an in-depth understanding of digital media creation and production. The aim of our program, with its specific focus areas, is to produce digital media designers prepared for jobs in training, marketing, advertising, web development, broadcasting, audio production, graphic art production and electronic publishing. As an MFA student, your studies will begin with a handful of required courses that will form the basis of your digital arts toolkit. From there, you’ll be able to choose from a wide selection of elective offerings in digital art, fine art, animation and production, or project coursework — narrowing your focus in the direction of the skillsets that most interest you. In addition to your regular coursework, you’ll be working toward your final thesis project under the guidance of faculty advisors.
Students wishing to pursue a Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) at a private art college, or who need more intensive development of their portfolios for transfer to any institution, should choose this degree. Students planning to transfer to a state institution may want to consider enrolling in the Associate of Arts (A.A.) Art + Design degree. Digital arts majors find a broad number of different opportunities and paths, depending on their specific interests. From music and audio tech to design and streaming-video production and support, digital artists find many careers and opportunities to put their creative and technical abilities together.
